RAMMP DIYPhotography · Sole trader

Foodie Shots came up number one.

Kat Lynn · Founder, Foodie Shots

Foodie Shots is Kat Lynn's food and product photography business in Toowoomba, Queensland, shooting for wineries, restaurants and producers, and teaching workshops and courses.

At a glance

Before

A sole trader doing her own website, blocking out a week every January to update it, guided by gut feel and anecdotes.

What RAMMP did

RAMMP DIY: a Web Dude audit, then RAMMP to restructure the site and write it in her own voice.

▲ After

Updates take 20 minutes. More workshop and course bookings. And Foodie Shots comes up first in AI search, from Toowoomba and from Brisbane.

The problem

What was in the way

Nobody knows a one-person business like the person running it, so Kat did her own website. That meant scheduling her downtime, often January, to set aside a whole week for it.

”

Being a sole trader and not having really anyone that knows my business the way I do, it's been really hard to get someone to update my website the way I feel that I speak.

What we did

How RAMMP fixed it

  1. 01 · The First Date / Website

    Structure from data, not gut

As a human-centred designer, Kat thought she knew what her clients needed. The audit changed how she structured the whole site.

  2. 02 · The First Impression / Branding

    Words that sound like her

Because RAMMP knows her background and her language, the copy comes back the way she'd say it: clear, succinct, no floweriness.

  3. 03

    A 20-minute update

A couple of prompts and questions replace a week in January.

The result

What happened next

A colleague near Kat in Toowoomba ran an AI search, and Foodie Shots came up. To check it wasn't because they were local, Kat had someone in Brisbane ask exactly the same question. Foodie Shots came up number one again.

She's also seen more bookings for her workshops and courses.

What it changed

Confidence, not guesswork

What changed most was the second-guessing.

”

I don't have to constantly sit there and go, ‘Oh, have I done this right?’ Or, ‘Am I saying it right?’ Because I've got the confidence that RAMMP is helping me to show up in the way that I want.

Before RAMMP came along, or the DIY Web Dude, I was just relying on gut and knowledge. As a human-centered designer, I was thinking I knew what my clients needed through surveys and conversations I'd had anecdotal evidence. But as soon as I managed to get RAMMP on board, it just changed the whole way that I looked at the way the website would be structured.

Being a sole trader and not having really anyone that knows my business the way I do, it's been really hard to get someone to update my website the way I feel that I speak. So it was always me doing my own website, and I found it took a lot of time. You had to schedule in your downtime, whether that's January, to section out a whole week to try and update your website. It was like a mental load.

Now with RAMMP, it's a simple matter of putting in a couple of prompts and questions, and because it already knows my background and my language, it's built around who I am, it only takes 20 minutes, if that, to have the confidence to update the website and know that it's going to have an impact.

Personalized. Yeah, it's surprisingly personalized. And sometimes, when it comes back with some of the language, you go, "That's exactly how I'm trying to say it," but in a much clearer and cleaner way, and with a lot more emphasis. There's no floweriness about it. It's to the point, it's clear, succinct, and it gets the message across in a way that I really needed.

Tools that work together. RAMMP certainly has ensured that I am coming across in a way that I feel is authentic and is meaningful. I have seen an uptake of more workshop and my courses. A lot of people have said now that I'm being found to the point where recently I had a friend and a colleague in location where I'm positioned, did an AI search on one of their chats or a clause, and Foodie Shots was found, which was really exciting. But to test whether or not it was a location-driven answer, I actually got someone in Brisbane to ask exactly the same question. And again, Foodie Shots came up number one. So we are certainly-- I do feel that because of RAMMP and the edits and the adaption of what we're doing through RAMMP has ensured that we are now being found through AI searches as well as one of the top searches in Google.

It's the confidence to know that how I'm showing up is in an authentic and actionable way. Therefore, I don't have to constantly sit there and go, "Oh, have I done this right?" Or, "Am I saying it right?" Because I've got the confidence that RAMMP is helping me to show up in the way that I want.
